This Privacy Policy explains how Auriezon handles information when you use the app, optional Apple iCloud features, and our support channels. Auriezon is designed primarily to work on your device. It does not require an Auriezon account or a SQYTCH-operated server to store your countdowns, reminders, Memories or other app content.
Who operates Auriezon and how to contact us
Auriezon is published under the SQYTCH name. For questions about this policy, privacy requests or app support, contact [email protected].
SQYTCH is your contact for questions about the privacy practices of Auriezon, including optional sync features, and for personal information we receive through support correspondence. Apple operates the iCloud, App Store and other Apple services under Apple's terms and privacy notices. The absence of a SQYTCH-operated content database does not, by itself, determine whether data-protection laws apply to a particular processing activity.
Information stored on your device
Countdowns, reminders, Memories, timers, app settings and other content are primarily stored locally on your device, including in app preferences and app files. Photos that you deliberately add to Memories, and photos or videos you add as custom backgrounds, can have local copies for offline use.
We do not operate a centralized SQYTCH database containing this app content. Auriezon does not require a separate account, and the app does not include third-party advertising, tracking or analytics SDKs in the version described here.
Optional iCloud settings sync
If you turn on iCloud Sync, supported settings and app data may synchronize between devices using Apple's iCloud key-value storage and the same Apple Account. This is separate from the Premium media-sync feature below. Sync timing and availability depend on Apple's services, account settings, device conditions, network access and available storage.
Synchronization is not an independent backup. Changes, including certain deletions or overwrites, may propagate between devices. Keep an independent copy of content that is especially important to you. Where applicable privacy law requires a legal basis for app functionality involving personal information, the feature is provided at your request as part of the app service; optional sync can be switched off in the app or device settings.
Sync Photos & Backgrounds (Premium)
Where available, Sync Photos & Backgrounds is an optional Premium feature, off by default, which you must enable separately on each device. It synchronizes media you have already added to Memories and photo or video backgrounds you have already added to Auriezon. It does not upload or synchronize your entire Photos library.
When enabled, eligible media is stored and synchronized through the private CloudKit database associated with your Apple Account, using Apple's iCloud infrastructure and storage allowance. SQYTCH does not host the media on its own servers or publish it for other Auriezon users. Original files can contain embedded metadata, including capture times or location information.
Auriezon maintains supported local media copies for offline use. Media synchronization uses Wi-Fi by default; mobile-data transfers require enabling the corresponding option. Uploads and downloads may be delayed or fail because of network conditions, available iCloud storage or Apple's service and device restrictions.
Turning this feature off does not automatically delete existing local copies or media previously synchronized to iCloud. If you change Apple Accounts, synchronization with the previous account stops; enabling sync with a different account may upload eligible local files into the new account's private CloudKit database. Review your account and sync settings before making this change.
Device permissions and Apple services
With your permission, Auriezon can schedule local notifications for reminders. Widgets and Live Activities can display selected information on iOS or iPadOS system surfaces, including the Lock Screen. Photo selection uses the system photo picker. When you request world-clock or location searches, Apple's Maps or geocoding services may process the query required to return results.
Apple handles information associated with these Apple services under its own policies. Auriezon does not automatically send the contents of your Memories or countdowns to SQYTCH when using these features.
Purchases, sharing and diagnostics
Apple processes in-app purchases through StoreKit and your Apple Account. Auriezon uses purchase entitlement information to unlock eligible Premium functionality. SQYTCH does not receive your complete payment-card details through the app.
When you use Export or Share, the content you select is passed to the destination or app you choose. The app does not automatically email exported content to SQYTCH. Third-party destinations you select have their own privacy practices.
We do not embed third-party advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs. Apple may provide developers with App Store statistics, crash reports or diagnostic information under Apple's settings and services; these reports are separate from a SQYTCH-hosted database of your Memories or countdowns.
When you contact support
If you voluntarily email [email protected], we receive the information you send, which may include your email address, message, device/app version, and any attachments you choose to provide. The app does not automatically attach Memories, photos, countdown content or your full device data to support messages.
We use this information to answer your request, investigate problems, prevent misuse of the support channel and meet applicable legal obligations. Depending on the request, the legal basis may be responding to a contractual request, our legitimate interest in providing support and maintaining a reliable service, or compliance with legal obligations. We do not sell support correspondence or use it for targeted advertising.
Support correspondence is retained only for as long as reasonably needed to resolve the matter, address related follow-up, establish or defend legal claims, or comply with applicable recordkeeping requirements. Our email provider may process these communications as necessary to deliver and store them.
Visiting these legal pages
When you open pages on sqytch.com, the website's hosting and security services may receive technical request information, such as IP address, browser details and access timestamps, to deliver and protect the website. This is separate from the information stored within the Auriezon app. Any logs are retained according to operational needs, provider settings and applicable legal requirements.
Your choices and rights
You can manage many items directly within Auriezon, decline optional permissions, disable optional iCloud sync and choose not to send support emails. You can also manage iCloud settings, device backups and Apple Account information through Apple.
Where applicable, you may request access to, correction or deletion of personal information that SQYTCH actually holds, or object to or request restriction of certain processing. Contact [email protected]. We may need reasonable information to verify and handle a request. Since we do not operate a SQYTCH database of your private iCloud or on-device app content, we generally cannot retrieve, view or delete that content on your behalf. You can also lodge a complaint with the competent data-protection authority, including Romania's ANSPDCP where applicable.
Deletion, backups and limitations
Deleting a countdown, a Memory, a background or other content inside Auriezon removes it as supported by the app; where synchronization is enabled, changes may also affect synchronized copies. Turning off a sync feature alone is not the same as deleting previously synchronized data.
Uninstalling Auriezon generally removes its local app data as handled by iOS or iPadOS, but may not remove data already stored in iCloud, Apple device backups, shared or exported files, or Apple's purchase records. These must be managed separately through the relevant device, Apple account or receiving service. We cannot promise restoration of content that has been deleted, corrupted or is otherwise unavailable.
Security
Auriezon relies on device operating-system protections and, for optional synchronization, Apple's iCloud infrastructure. Protect access to your device and Apple Account. No software, storage or network service can be guaranteed to be error-free or completely secure. We do not claim that all Auriezon media is end-to-end encrypted or that SQYTCH can recover content after deletion.
International processing
Apple, your email provider, website-hosting providers or services you independently choose may process certain information in other countries under their respective legal arrangements. Where SQYTCH is responsible for an international transfer of personal information, we will follow applicable data-protection requirements.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect app changes, legal requirements or changes in services. The date at the top identifies this version. Material changes will be communicated where required by law. The policy applicable when you use a particular version of Auriezon should accurately describe that version's data practices.
